Farrah Abraham was introduced to the viewers of MTV back in June 2009 on "16 and Pregnant," and is being profiled on the network's hit show, "Teen Mom." The series shows a more in-depth look into the high and low points of Farrah's life as she raises her daughter, Sophia.
Farrah has allowed cameras to film her struggles, such as visiting Derek's grave (Sophia's father who died in a car accident before the birth of their daughter), to fighting with her parents and being hit by her mother, who was arrested for assault in early 2010.
But even though Farrah has shown the world her hardships, she puts on a brave face for Sophia, "My favorite part of being a mother is seeing Sophia as a happy child, no matter what I go through," the 21-year-old tells TheTrueGossip.com, "I want to help her become smart, healthy, and happy. To watch her become what I had hoped for is my favorite part of every day."
Negative stories are written in tabloids about Farrah, claiming she's a "bad mother" or a "gold digger." But Abraham doesn't seem to pay attention to her face on magazines while she's in the checkout line at the grocery store. She puts all of her attention into creating a good and stable life for her and Sophia, "I tell myself, 'God doesn't put me through more than I can handle, I can make it happen, and we have everything we need,'" Abraham admits to TTG. "I tell myself those things when I'm stressed about bills, work, or un-supportive family members."
Abraham wanted to move away from her hometown with her daughter for multiple reasons, one being the constant bickering between family members. In recent episodes of "Teen Mom," fans watched Farrah and her family constantly go back-and-fourth about what is best for Sophia. Her parents, Michael and Debra, felt Sophia should live with them while Farrah moves away on her own. After a few arguments, Farrah got her way, and moved to Florida with her daughter, "My relationship with my parents since my move has been better for me, since I don't have to see them as often." But as for Sophia's relationship with her grandparents? Farrah tells TTG, "I keep communication open with them, of course. For Sophia."
Farrah knows she isn't the only young mother who is going through hard times, "Keep your faith, your focus, and make the best choices for you and your child."

Derek was the father of the baby I was carrying inside me. He was my first love, my only true love. We hadn’t spoken in more than two months, but crazily I had still hoped we had a future together—me, him, and our baby, as one happy family. It’s every teenage girl’s dream, isn’t it? You meet a boy, you fall in love, and then one day you have a family and grow old together, happily ever after.”
