21-year-old "Modern Family" star Sarah Hyland has been hiding something major from the public. In April, Hyland had a kidney transplant after suffering with kidney dysplasia since age 9. Sarah made an appearance on "GMA" to talk about her struggle, “If you're sick you still go to work and in between takes you sit down or you lay your head down or something. I try to make it so that Haley (Sarah's character in Modern Family) is always sitting down. If you notice she's sitting down a lot, texting, or like leaning on something, texting.”
Sarah talked with Seventeen Magazine about her boyfriend Matt Prokop and how he takes her to appointments and reminds her to take her medication. She said no other 21-year-old guy would do that, and she's lucky to have him. The two met on the set of High School Musical 3.
Sarah received the kidney from her father and seems happy about the future, "I have a kidney in me now!"
